3 Reasons Why Amazon is Not Always the Best Place to Buy Lashing Tools and Supplies

Let me share some insights about why I've had reservations about purchasing lash supplies for beginners, including the "best" lash trays and tweezers for beginners, from Amazon. You see, I've had my fair share of experiences when buying from this massive online marketplace, and there are a few reasons why I think it's not always the best choice, especially for those just starting out:

1. Lack of Quality Control:

When I was starting as a lash technician, I was looking for the best lash trays for beginners without breaking the bank. So, I turned to Amazon and started browsing through their lash tray reviews. However, I soon realized that the variety of options can be overwhelming, and not all of them are suitable for beginners. In fact, some products labeled as beginner-friendly were anything but that. The problem is, with so many sellers offering different lash trays, it's hard to ensure the quality and authenticity of what you're getting. This unpredictability can put you at risk of receiving low-quality or even counterfeit products that can compromise both your clients' safety and the quality of your work.

2. Limited Expertise and Support:

When you're a beginner in the world of lashing, guidance and support are invaluable. I vividly remember the days when I was starting out, and I wished for someone to provide advice on the best tweezers for beginners. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't offer much in the way of expert advice or personalized recommendations for those who are just getting started. It can be a real drawback. In contrast, specialized beauty supply stores or dedicated lashing suppliers often have experienced staff who can offer the proper guidance, ensuring that beginners make the right choices and avoid costly mistakes in their journey.

3. Difficulty in Assessing Authenticity:

For beginners, ensuring the authenticity of the lash supplies you purchase is crucial. Counterfeit products are a growing concern on Amazon, and it's not something to be taken lightly. I've heard stories of beginners who unknowingly ended up with fake supplies, and it can be a frustrating experience, to say the least. It's not just about getting what you paid for; it's about ensuring the safety and reliability of the tools you use on your clients. The risk is not only in the quality and safety of your work but also in the potential damage to your reputation as a lash technician, especially when you're just starting out.

While I acknowledge that Amazon offers convenience and a wide selection of products, I've come to understand that there are valid reasons to be cautious when purchasing lash supplies from the platform. Prioritizing quality, expertise, and product authenticity is crucial, especially for those beginning their journey in the lash extension industry. Ultimately, this is what led us to create our own brand, Lash Collective and curated the best tools to help out fellow lash techs to provide a more reliable and supportive experience for beginners like you and me.
